Sumiya in Kyoto. Located in one of Kyoto’s “Hanamachi” or red light districts. Although the building itself is an historic site in and of itself, this one is known also for the sword mark left by a Shinsengumi member who couldn’t pay a bill. (Or so I’ve been told)
The priceless Minton tile floor in St George’s Hall, Liverpool. Laid in 1852 and usually covered by a wooden dance floor to protect it.
