Posted on May 18, 2020Mausoleum of the Roman Emperor Hadrian (reigned 117-138 CE), built in the final 16 years of his reign. It was reused as a generational Imperial tomb. Eight emperors were interred here, the last being Caracalla in 217 CE. At 50m, it was the tallest building in Rome.
